The combination of these factors is the cause of natural hazards such as floods, inundations and landslides; usually described as exceptional, these phenomena have become, since the last twenty years, a topical fact, and a recurring source of concern for the authorities faced with a high number of adverse events.<\/p>\n<p>In the current context of climate change, Mediterranean regions face longer dry periods in late summer and more torrential rains in winter.
